Director of Internal Audit
**Wyndham** is currently seeking a **Director of Internal Audit** in Orlando, Florida. The Director of Internal Audit will provide independent assurance that financial and business internal controls are operating effectively at the Wyndham level and also within the company's operating units. In addition, the candidate will monitor that the company is in compliance with best practice and regulatory compliance requirements.


The candidate will be expected to develop the appropriate communication mechanisms and network of relationships within the group, to help facilitate an annual risk assessment on which an audit plan will be developed. They will also be expected to react to business unit requests for specific audits or reviews as required. Support for achieving compliance in areas such as PCI & Data Privacy and FCPA in terms of training guidance and quality reviews and sample testing will also be required.


The role will require the ability to work in a complex and dynamic business environment with the flexibility to work in different countries and in a multicultural environment.




**Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**





+ Assist with the compilation of an annual risk assessment based on interviews with business leaders, executives, and operational management to identify company risk objectives.

+ Build an annual audit plan, including scope, schedule, staffing, and budgets based on the risk assessment.

+ Identify, leverage, and oversee internal subject matter expertise, as well as consultants.

+ Schedule and perform audits, investigations, and projects and organize and manage any extra resources required.

+ Draft audit reports and present findings and recommendations to line management.

+ Agree final reports with line management and agree action plans to remediate risks and issues.

+ Formulate recommendations to improve internal control processes and other value adding opportunities, as appropriate.

+ Circulate reports to senior and corporate management as required.

+ Follow up outstanding action points within an agreed timetable and ensure that all issues are closed in a timely fashion.

+ Execute internal audits based on companies agreed work programs.

+ Provide input for the development of new work programs as required, and provide feedback on the improvement of current work programs.

+ Implement the audit charter by executing and updating audit policies and procedures.

+ Maintain awareness of developments in industry, audit, and risk management.

+ Recruit, develop, and retain audit personnel and risk staff assigned across operations.

+ Assist in assessing controls of acquisitions/acquisition targets.

+ Communication:


+ Participation in internal planning meetings and regular communications within the Corporate Internal Audit Department.

+ Regular contact with the SVP of Internal Audit and communication of plans and activities.

+ Regular contact with business unit management and maintenance of knowledge of business unit plans and strategies.

+ Assist with communications to senior management and the Audit Committee.


+ Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with the various constituents such as the external auditors, the enterprise and business unit leadership

+ Bachelor's Degree (Minimum); Masters Degree (Preferred)

+ CISA; CPA, CIA, and/or CFE certifications (Preferred)

+ 8-10 years internal, external, and/or public audit experience (Minimum)

+ 4-6 years direct or matrix staffing responsibility (Minimum)

+ 4-6 years fraud investigation and forensics experience (Preferred)

+ 4-6 years SOX and Compliance support experience (Preferred)

+ A strong technical understanding of IT systems development and processes is also preferred

+ Excellent writing and communication skills are essential

+ The candidate must be a proactive individual, who is able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

+ Consistent common sense, pragmatism and excellent judgment skills will be critical to success in the function.
