Puppet Specialist - Seasonal/Casual Temporary
The Puppet Specialist role is a seasonal/casual temporary hourly position. The Puppet Specialist at the Walt Disney World Resort provides training of puppetry skills including lip sync, blocking, movement, choreography, and expression of puppeteers on all styles for all shows on property.


**Responsibilities :**


+ The Puppet Specialist role at the Walt Disney World Resort maintain original creative intent and ongoing show quality by partnering with the Show Director, Choreographer and/or Maintenance Choreographer.

+ They provide notes to all puppeteers regarding onstage performance, as well as communicate issues to Operational Management and Creative partners.

+ Identify and support target areas for Performer improvement.

+ Collaborate with appropriate partners regarding new product and ongoing show quality efforts.

+ Conduct/oversee workshops, auditions and rehearsals for puppeteers.


**Basic Qualifications :**


+ Proven experience in the puppet field

+ Advanced ability in lip sync, animation, blocking and choreography for puppets

+ Knowledge of a variety of puppet styles from rod puppets to computer-animated puppets

+ Ability to learn and retain puppet blocking, movement and lip sync

+ Ability to demonstrate a variety of styles clearly and accurately

+ Ability to organize material to be taught and conduct rehearsals, teach and coach

+ Ability to adapt teaching to all levels of learning

+ Ability to observe and document performers' execution of blocking, movement and lip sync and give constructive show notes to performers

+ Ability to accurately note and maintain documentation of shows

+ Demonstrated leadership skills

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and working relationships

+ Ability to collaborate with appropriate partners

+ Ability to be responsible for confidential information

+ Ability to represent Walt Disney World in a professional manner

+ Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including travel


**Preferred Qualifications :**


+ Proven knowledge of the Equity and Service Trades Council contracts

+ Previous professional employment as a puppeteer


**Required Education :**


+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
